Nawaf Massalha, MK Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

Nawaf Massalha was born 1943 in Kfar Kara. A teacher by profession,
he studied at Tel-Aviv University.
Massalha has been a Knesset Member since 1988.
From 1988-1992 he served as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset and as a
Member of the Knesset Committee, the Internal Affairs and Environment
Committee, the Education and Culture Committee, and the Anti-Drug
Abuse Committee. From 1992-1996 he served as Deputy Minister of
Health and as a Member of the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee
and the Anti-Drug Abuse Committee. From 1996-1999 he served as Deputy
Speaker of the Knesset and as a Member of the Knesset Committee and
the Committee for Scientific and Technological Research and
Development. He is currently a Member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs
& Defense Committee, and the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.
Massalha has also served as Director of the Arab Affairs Department
in the Histadrut Federation of Labour, Member of the Histadrut
Central Committee, and Member of the Labour Party Central Committee.
In August 1999 Nawaf Massalha was appointed Deputy Minister of
Foreign Affairs.
He is married, and has five children.
