Bayit Meshutaf
Young Jewish Leadership
Diplomatic Seminar
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Jerusalem, Israel
The Young Jewish Leadership Diplomatic Seminar is an exciting new venture
of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Seminar was first run in July 1999 with 35 participants from 16
countries around the world. This year's Seminar, scheduled from April 2nd - April 14th, 2000, will be open to participants from European Union countries only.
The objectives of this program are multifold, with its foremost goal being to enhance the relationship between young European Jewish leadership and the State of Israel. The Seminar offers an in-depth exploration of the many facets of the Israeli agenda, including the peace process; national security; economy; culture and society; Jewish life in Israel and more. Since participants will all be residents of European Union countries, there will also be sessions examining issues specifically relating to European Jewry.
The Young Jewish Leadership Diplomatic Seminar is conducted under the
auspices of "Bayit Meshutaf" (Shared Home), a newly established division of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The goal of the division is to develop unique and innovative programs for young Jewish leaders to strengthen the links between Israel and the multi-faceted Jewish world. This department also runs internship programs and joint professional exchanges in humanitarian areas.
The Young Jewish Leadership Diplomatic Seminar is fully sponsored by the
Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, covering full board and lodging, excursions and other costs. Participants are however responsible for covering their flight costs to and from Israel.
