PM Sharon speaks with Turkish PM Erdogan

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon this evening (Tuesday), 23 August 2005, spoke with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who phoned in order to congratulate him on the implementation of the Disengagement Plan. The Turkish Prime Minister said that Prime Minister Sharon’s decision was brave, was appreciated by the entire world and constituted an important step in advancing the peace process for the future of the region.

Prime Minister Sharon thanked his Turkish counterpart for his support and friendship for Israel and for his recent letter. The two leaders agreed to meet in New York next month.
