Israel Sends Emergency Aid to Ethiopia

  Israel Sends Emergency Aid to Ethiopia

Israel's emergency aid to starvation victims in Ethiopia will be sent tonight (April 24) to Addis Ababa in two Israel Air Force planes. The 30 tons of aid, which includes medicines, food, baby food and blankets, will be accompanied by a delegation led by Deputy Director General Haim Divon, Head of the Center for International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Divon carries a message from Foreign Minister David Levy to his Ethiopian colleague Seyoum Mefsin, which he will give to senior Ethiopian government officials in a meeting that will take place after the arrival of the delegation to Ethiopia.

The aid will be handed over, in a short ceremony tomorrow (April 25) at Addis Ababa Airport, to the Ethiopian commissioner responsible for the collection and distribution of aid to persons affected by starvation.
